Andy Cooper, AIF®, CPC
Vice President, Retirement Plan Consulting Advisor
Background
Andy provides comprehensive consulting and advisory services to corporate and non-profit retirement plan clients and prospects. Andy’s core expertise includes fiduciary investment management and operational best practices, plan design consulting and optimization, and employee success strategies. Andy delivers thoughtful guidance and expertise to his clients, whatever their needs might be.
Andy has been working with retirement plan sponsors for over 20 years across multiple roles. His well-rounded experience and diverse skill set have enabled him to develop a unique and thorough understanding of the industry and the issues that impact retirement plan sponsors and participants the most.
Andy began his career with a large third-party administration (TPA) firm, where he learned the vast intricacies of plan administration, ERSIA compliance, advanced plan design, and business development. Andy has also worked for one of the largest recordkeepers in the U.S., where he was primarily responsible for client satisfaction and retention, employee education, plan design consulting, and issue resolution. In that role, Andy also developed a strong understanding of investment products, plan pricing structures, and how technology can be leveraged to optimize plan sponsor and participant success. These experiences have shaped Andy’s passion for helping employers design effective and efficient retirement plan programs so that their employees can retire successfully.
Andy currently maintains the Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) designation through American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA), as well as the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation through the Center for Fiduciary Studies. Andy maintains the Series 65 securities license with Global Retirement Partners, LLC, an SEC registered investment advisor. Andy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Washington & Jefferson College in 2002.
In his free time, Andy’s favorite thing to do is spend time with family and friends. He is an avid golfer and a huge college football fan. Andy also serves on the Board of Directors for Providence Connections, a Pittsburgh-based non-profit that supports under-privileged children and families. Andy resides in the South Hills of Pittsburgh with his wife Jeni and his daughter Anna.
