William D. Franklin, CFP, AEP

Willie is Senior Vice President of HUB Retirement and Wealth Management. He is a former founding partner of Franklin Financial Group, LLC. His practice is focused on overall insurance, investment, financial, and estate planning, as well as corporate retirement plans.  He is a Registered Representative with LPL Financial and a Registered Investment Advisor Representative with Global Retirement Partners (GRP).  He has the FINRA Series 6 license*, as well as individual life and health insurance licenses. He is a graduate of the College for Financial Planning and holds their Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation. He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) and the Baltimore Estate Planning Council. He is a Past President of NAIFA-Maryland and the former co-Chair for the industry’s Joint Legislative Committee. He was installed into the NAIFA-Maryland Hall of Fame in 2016 and was the recipient of the Paul J. Murphy Award recognizing long-term and dedicated service to his clients and the industry.

In 1988, Willie graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (American Studies/Business Administration) from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. Upon graduation, he worked for the Paul Revere Insurance Group as a disability insurance specialist until 1994. At that time, he joined Franklin/Morris as an Associated Principal for seven years prior to forming Franklin Financial Group in 2001.

Willie is a founding Board member and the current Chairman of the Board for the Catch A Lift Fund (CAL), a non-profit organization started in 2010 to assist post 9/11 combat-wounded veterans with their transition back into a productive civilian life. He is a former Board member for both the North Baltimore Wrestling Club and the Roland Park Baseball League. He also previously served on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross of Central Maryland as the Audit Chair and the Finance Committee for St. Mary’s Church.
